As a Board Director and consultant, Denise Carpenter advises Canadian organizations on brand building, public policy, stakeholder engagement, governance mergers and integration of merged and acquired entities. A graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) Directors Education Program at the University of Toronto, she has served as a guest lecturer and executive in residence at the University of Alberta’s MBA program and guest lecturer at the Fellows Program, Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard. She has also written and lectured widely on governance as a business enabler and stakeholder relations.

Scot Martin

Scot Martin is the principal owner, President and CEO of youRhere Inc., a leader in the interactive segment of Canada’s digital signage industry. He has spent 30 years as a corporate and investment banking professional, holding a number of senior positions in the industry, including: Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking at Scotia Capital Markets; Deputy Chairman and Co- Head, Canadian Relationship Management … at Scotia Capital; Vice-Chairman, Corporate and Investment Banking at National Bank Financial, Inc.; and Partner at Blair Franklin Capital Partners.  In addition to this role with CGKP, Mr. Martin serves as co-chair for Canada’s Great Kitchen Party, Toronto and as Chair of the Branksome Hall Foundation.

Lorrie King

Lorrie King is a partner at Deloitte and is the Greater Toronto Area Marketplace Leader for Deloitte Private.  She is also the co-leader of the Best Managed Companies Awards Program, the leading program recognizing the accomplishments of private companies in Canada. At Deloitte, she has held the roles of National Travel, Hospitality and Leisure industry leader, and Regional Audit Service Line Leader for Deloitte’s Ontario private company practice. With over 27 years of experience in industry and privately owned businesses in Canada and abroad, Lorrie King brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a trusted advisor to her clients. She is a member of the United Way Women United Council as well as co-chair for Canada’s Great Kitchen Party, Toronto.

Karen Blair

Karen Blair is one of the founders of Canada’s Great Kitchen Party (KP) and as CAO of the social enterprise, oversees sponsorship, marketing, athlete procurement, finances and strategic management of the entire project.  Prior to establishing KP, Ms. Blair co-founded Gold Medal Plates, which had a highly successful twelve-year run in Canada.  The project elevated Canada’s culinary community and raised over 13 million for Canadian Olympic athletes. In addition, Ms. Blair philanthropically co-chaired the Future Olympians Fund, which raised close to 2 million for Canada’s Next Generation of athletes.

The National Advisory Committee is a group of individuals who offer input and advice on all of the elements of Canada’s Great Kitchen Party.

A multi-award-winning author and journalist, James Chatto has written for most major Canadian publications and many others in England and the United States. He has been food editor of Toronto Life Gardens and of Gardening Life and restaurant columnist of Toronto Life, as well as wine columnist for Enroute magazine and the LCBO’s Food & Drink magazine, where he was creative consultant and Senior Editor for over 25 years.

David Lawrason is considered one of the leading wine experts in Canada. He has been writing and teaching for over 35 years, formerly for The Globe and Mail and Toronto Life magazine, and currently for WineAlign.com, Canada’s busiest wine review website.  He teaches UK-based WSET courses across Canada for Fine Vintage Ltd.  The growing Canadian wine industry, which supports Canada’s Great Kitchen Party, has become a major focus of his work. He is co-founder of the WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada, teaches the Canadian Wine Scholar Course for FVL, and in 2018 received a Canadian Wine Champion Award from the Canadian Vintners Association.

Stephen Beaumont is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading beer authorities. The author or co-author of thirteen books, including two editions of The World Atlas of Beer, the ground-breaking Beer & Food Companion, and his latest, Will Travel for Beer, he is also a regular beer columnist for such publications as Whisky Advocate and Brewing Business and editor-in-chief of the Canadian edition of Original Gravity magazine.

Marnie McBean

Marnie McBean is one of Canada’s most decorated Olympians, with a total of four Olympic medals, including three gold, making her one of just two Canadians to be a triple gold medallist at the Summer Games. McBean is a member of Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame as well as a recipient of the Governor General’s Meritorious Service Medal and has been given the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal. She was also appointed an Officer to the Order of Canada.

Benoit Huot is one of Canada’s most accomplished Paralympians of all time, having won 20 medals at five Paralympic Games. His best Paralympic Games were in Athens in 2004 with five gold medals and one silver. He is a member of the Canadian Disability Hall of Fame, as well as the Order of Canada and a Knight of the Order of Quebec.
