On Thursday, November 20th, eight chefs competed at the regional qualifier for the Canadian Culinary Championship. It was a prestigious event at Telus Convention Centre. The guests savoured the dishes and the well-chosen paired beverages as they enjoyed each other’s company as well as the incredible talent of Steven Page (founding member and former lead singer, guitarist and primary songwriter of the Barenaked Ladies) along with Kevin Fox (Steven Page Trio) and Craig Northey (The Odds and Steven Page Trio).The emcee, Joelle Tomlinson, accomplished and engaging journalist, speaker and host, guided the evening with expertise and style.

Silver: Chef Tracy Little from Sauvage, Canmore
paired with Vineland 2017 Vidal Icewine, Niagara Peninsula, ON

Gold: Chef Matthias Fong from Primary Colours
paired with Upper Bench 2022 Riesling, Naramata Bench, BC

Bronze: Chef Jenny Kang from Orchard Restaurant
paired with Gold Hill 2022 Cabernet Franc Rosé, Okanagan Valley, BC

Chef Fong will go on to represent Calgary at the Canadian Culinary Championship on January 31 - February 1, 2025, in Ottawa
