St. John’s

On Thursday, October 17th, six chefs competed at the regional qualifier for the Canadian Culinary Championship. It was a prestigious event at St. John’s Convention Centre. The guests savoured the dishes and the well-chosen paired beverages as they enjoyed each other’s company as well as the incredible talent of Johnny Reid (Multi-Platinum selling, Juno Award-winning artist, producer and playwright) along with keyboardist Michael Shand and cellist Kevin Fox. The emcee, Jennifer Reid, A Woman Like You iHeart Media Podcast Host, guided the evening with expertise and style.

Bronze: Chef Cody Lamb from Blue Smoke BBQ

Gold: Chef Nicholas Walters from The Merchant Tavern
paired with Lightfoot & Wolffville Brut Rose, Annapolis Valley, NS

Silver: Chef Lacey Coffin from Vu Resto and Bar
paired with Pelee Island 2017 Reisling, Pelee Island, ON

Chef Walters will go on to represent St John's at the Canadian Culinary Championship on January 31 - February 1, 2025, in Ottawa
