All-Star Invitational

This year’s regional qualifier, held at Raphael Peruvian Cuisine on September 21st, was an evening of elegance, artistry, and exceptional taste. Guests were treated to an immersive experience executed by Ottawa’s All-Star Chefs. To celebrate our 20th anniversary, two chefs will represent Ottawa at the national finals: Marc Lepine, Ottawa’s appointed Chef of Distinction and Yannick Laselle, who is the winner of the regional competition. Don’t miss cheering them on at the Canadian Culinary Championship

Bronze: Jason Sawision, Stofa

Representing Ottawa at the Canadian Culinary Championship: Chef Marc Lepine is the chef-owner of Atelier in Ottawa, consistently ranked among Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants. He is a two-time winner of the Canadian Culinary Championship (2012, 2016), was named Canada’s Most Innovative Chef in 2018 and has received international recognition from The Best Chef Awards in 2024 and 2025. He is currently developing his second restaurant, Sauterelle. Chef Yannick Laselle led his team to the top of the podium at the Canadian Culinary Championship. Under his leadership, Les Fougères was also recognized among Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants in both 2019 and 2021, highlighting his contribution to the advancement of Canadian cuisine. Today, Yannick serves as Executive Chef at the Supreme Court of Canada, where he continues to pursue excellence, precision, and culinary creativity in service of one of the nation’s most distinguished institutions.


The People's Choice

Lizardo Becerra, the 2024 Regional Gold Medalist and executive chef at Raphaël Peruvian Cuisine was chosen as the People's Choice Chef.

Dish: Sablefish Usuzukuri & Manila Clam Tart, Aged Wild BC Sablefish Usuzukuri, Pistachio, Dill and Ginger Emulsion, Achiote Soil, Warm Leek & Green Apple Tart with Citrus-marinated Manila Clams and Aged Canadian Cheese. Manila Clam Gelato over Pistachio Crumble, Apple-Ginger-Green Onion Gremolata, Aji Limo-Lemongrass Gel.
